About Angela

People often tell me that one of the first things they notice when they begin working with me is the gentle, accepting atmosphere I create. It is this that inspired the philosophy behind my practice—creating a gentle space where people feel safe enough to be themselves.

I believe that meaningful therapy begins with feeling heard, understood and accepted. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties or simply feeling stuck, my aim is to offer a calm, compassionate environment where we can explore whatever has brought you to therapy, at a pace that feels right for you.

The name New Dawn Counselling London was inspired by a sunrise I watched while visiting Chai Chet Beach in Thailand. As I watched the darkness gradually give way to light, I was reminded that no matter how difficult life has been, every new day brings the possibility of hope, healing and change. That moment stayed with me and became the inspiration for the practice I wanted to create—a place where people could begin their own journey towards a new dawn.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, holding an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Level 4 CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) (Membership No. 385640).

My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy while drawing on an integrative approach to meet each person's individual needs. Together we can explore how past experiences may continue to influence your thoughts, feelings, relationships and patterns of behaviour today. Developing this understanding can help create lasting change, strengthen emotional resilience and support a more fulfilling way of living.

Alongside my private practice, I have many years of experience supporting individuals affected by addiction, trauma and complex emotional difficulties. This work has deepened my understanding of the courage it takes to ask for help and reinforced my belief that lasting change happens within a relationship built on trust, compassion and genuine human connection.

Therapy is not about being given answers. It is about discovering your own. My role is to walk alongside you, offering curiosity, compassion and a safe space in which you can explore your experiences, make sense of them and move towards the life you want to live.

It would be a privilege to accompany you on that journey.
